Son la 2:11 AM en Rochester… aqui son las 8:11 AM. Nuestra primera mañana en estas tierras esta llena de nubes grises, con viento, parece que va a llover…¡Bienvenidos a Asturias!, que como dicen por aqui… si no lloviera, no estaria asi de verde. Y es realmente verde.
Estamos en medio del campo, la casa es muy simple, pero esta muy bien, nos gusta. Ayer conocimos a nuestros vecinos, Amparín y su esposo , Amparo, la hija, y a un vecino que parece salido de una película de Almodovar. Todos amabilisimos, muy platicadores y simpáticos.
Después de instalarnos un poco en la casa fuimos a “la compra”, a un pueblo cercano que se llama Colombres, pero antes nos pasamos por un bar, a tomar una cerveza y comer unas tapas, en donde disfrutamos observando el folkclore local. Los pueblos por aqui, hasta donde hemos visto son bellisimos. Hoy queremos ir a Llanes y a San Roque, donde nació el abuelo de Carlos ( Don Pepe Gutierrez). A ver que investigamos.
It is 2:11 AM in Rochester… here 8:11 AM. Our first morning in this land is full of grey clouds and wind…it seems that will rain… Welcome to Asturias! As they say around here “if it didn’t rain it won’t be as green”, and it is really green!
We are in the middle of the countryside, the house is very simple, but it is fine, we like it.
Yesterday we met our neighbors, Amparin and her husband, their daughter Amparo and a neighbor that looks like a character out of an Almodovar’s movie. All of them are really nice, very talkative and funny.
After getting installed a little we went to do “the shopping” to a town near by called Colombres, but no without first stopping by a local bar and had a beer and some “tapas”, where we enjoyed seeing the local folklore.
The towns around here are really beautiful. Today we want to go to Llanes and San Roque, where Carlos’ grandfather was born (Don Pepe Gutierrez). Let’s see what we can find.
